Hi I'm Carl
St. Clair,
Thank
you for visiting. I have been in the music business for approximately
25 years. I was a member of a well known Reggae group (Desmond Dekker
and The Aces), which I was one member of The Aces with hit records
such as The Israelites, You Can get It If You Really Want, IT MEK,
to name but a few. I travelled all over Europe and the UK taking
part in televisions shows, Top of the Pops and radio interviews.
Since the split
of the group in the late 1970's I have continued with my musical
career recording and releasing my own records. I also write, arrange
and produce not only for myself, but for other groups and artiste's.
I formed my
record label in 1983/84 and since then I have released several 12"
singles, one of which went to No. 1 in the Reggae Charts and stayed
there for 6 Weeks. The others were hits but not as big.
To date I have
made 5 albums, two on the KAL-A-BASH label one for CHARM/JETSTAR
label and the other for an independant record label. I also travelled
to Jamaica to record at Penthouse Recording Studio, Kingston and
use some of Jamaica's best and finest musicians such as Robbie Lyn,
Steely & Clevie, Sly Bunbar and Danny Brownie. These records
were produced by Donovan Jermain.
In 1994 I built my own recording studio where two of my recent albums
were built. My influences in music are Bob Marley, Freddie Mcgregor,
Beres Hammond, Luciano and Gregory Isaacs.
My intention for the future is to sign up - and - coming artiste's
and groups and to established the KAL-A-BASH label to its fullest.
