Job Description

As an international legal practice with offices, people and clients around the world they are committed to equality and diversity in all our employment practices and consider that all our people have a duty and a responsibility for the promotion and advancement of this policy and that it is applied across all levels. The firm also ensures that these principles of diversity play an integral part in their recruitment and retention of lawyers and support staff and in the promotion of talented individuals within our practice.

Projects
• Design, implement and monitor an annual ‘Talent in the Pipeline’ review process aimed at female associates;
• To assist in the expansion of the Diversity Committee and its influence in the wider practice through the selection and support of ‘champions’.
• Work with Learning & Development to develop a leadership programme in order to fast-track female associates identified for potential partnership;
• Work closely with the present female partner population on the subject of being role models for aspiring female associates or those on the partnership track;

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Co-ordinate, attend and following up on action points arising from the Diversity Committee meetings;
• Work closely with the HR team and the wider business to ensure that diversity is embedded into all HR and business processes, policy development, monitoring and evaluation;
• Work closely with the HR team to review and implement changes in Recruitment, Retention and Development of Talent;
• Researching new diversity initiatives and put forward proposals for implementation;
• Ensure the firm remains compliant with legislation and update the staff handbook as required;
• Monitor, analyse and report on diversity statistics and make recommendations as appropriate;
• Produce diversity information for pitch and tender documents and ensure this information is presented to clients to make maximum impact;
• Advise on diversity message for marketing and advertising purposes;
• Ensure the Diversity intranet site is launched and kept up-to-date;
• Represent the firm externally and establish strong diversity network by attendance and contribution to seminars and forums;
• Attend all relevant meetings of the Law Society diversity forum and make recommendations to the DC on projects and initiatives we should get involved in;
• Facilitate working groups as required to consider issues such as flexible working;
• Review, design and implement diversity training in conjunction with the Learning and Development team.

Experience Required
• Degree level education and ideally a post graduate qualification in HR
• A minimum of 2 years’ specialist diversity experience in a challenging environment - professional services, corporate or blue chip, OR an experienced HR Manager/Business Partner who has demonstrable experience in the Diversity field
• Good understanding of Employment Law, in relation to diversity topics
