Churps Caribbean Flavoured Female Inspired Ice Cre
An interview with the founder of Churps Ice Cream, Churps the creator of this frozen dessert. He talks briefly about coming up with the concept and emphasizes that it's not just about the money but also how the community can benefit from it as well. Churps the creator of the Caribbean range of Ice Cream named CHURPS, was inspired to create this brand of frozen desserts. He used his knowledge of his cultural background, knowledge of flavours to develop this range, whilst focusing on a the community aspect of economic development and keeping an eye out for the ladies.
For him the Ice cream is not the end product of his idea, but a start towards economic development and business for the Black community to take ownership of its cultural brands and create economies around them and facilitate a self-help network of business opportunities.
The range currently included Sugarcane, Pina Colada, Rum and Raisin, Grapenut, Mango and Stout plus a few others. He chose these flavours as these flavours are part of the caribbean experience and people are familiar with these, but wasn't readily available in an ice cream form.
He also provides non dairy and diabetic versions so more people can enjoy them and have a dessert and not be restricted from enjoying them.
CHURPS Ice Cream is a dream made reality, Churps says sometimes we all have dreams but in the morning, it’s like we leave them at home when we go through the front door.
It’s important not to leave them behind but to follow them up.
