Contact Hope Jikiemi on 07983 731656 Press release 100th International Women’s Day charity dinner for leading business women in aid of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood A charity dinner on International Women's Day (8 March) will bring leading business women together in support of organizations working to save the lives of millions of women that die during pregnancy every year.
Events architect, Hope Jikeimi, who will be hosting the dinner in London's Covent Garden on International Women's Day 100th anniversary, says; It’s atrocious and a disgrace that in the twenty first century women still die in child birth or during pregnancy due to a lack of basic health care. This gathering of influential women aims to bring attention to the plight of these women and to call for more action to be taken by the world's wealthiest nations to help put a stop to this tragic and unnecessary loss of life. “X X,
Director of the White Ribbon Alliance, says; “Every minute of everyday around the world a woman dies in pregnancy or during child birth. Most of the women are from developing countries who give birth alone or with only a family member or neighbour to help. “Just as world leaders rallied to shore up the banks, we appeal to them, and to the British Government, to step up investment in maternal healthcare. More money is needed to save the lives and to meet the UN's Millennium Goal to reduce death during childbirth by 75% by 2015.”
