The Jamaica 50 Independence Gala Dinner & UK Awards Ceremony is a prestigious event that will take place on Thursday 16 August 2012 at the Emirates Stadium in London with celebrated guests from the world of politics, business, sports and entertainment in attendance.

This is an official Jamaica 50 celebratory event and promises to be one of the highlights in the UK calendar to mark Jamaica’s Golden Jubilee featuring:-


•    A Champagne and Rum Punch Reception

•    A three course Jamaican themed dinner  prepared by award winning Jamaican master chef Colin Brown

•    UK Awards Ceremony organised by the Jamaican High Commission that will honour persons of Jamaican heritage in the UK who have excelled in their chosen field and made a significant contribution to the development of Jamaica and the Jamaican Diaspora

•    Life Time Achievement Awards presented to sprint icon Don Quarrie and the first Jamaican woman to win an Olympic medal, Merlene Ottey.

•    A live Auction to raise funds for the Jamaican Amateur Athletics Association and the St Andrews Girls Home

•    An exclusive concert  with a line -up of legendary Jamaican artists
