Egypt rejected on Tuesday 10/4/2012 a unilateral declaration of the independence of northern Mali.
Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr underlined the importance of protecting the sovereignty of the State of Mali and its territorial integrity, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Amr Rushdi.
Amr also asserted the necessity of preventing any division of any African country in a bid to keep up the peace and security of the African continent.
Egypt holds that all political disputes should be settled via dialogue and negotiations, he said.
