What are the consequences on the body of the abusive consumption of sex enhancement drugs?

First of all, there are two categories of people who consume sex enhancement drugs or sex stimulators. Those who have a sexual problem and those who out of greed want to boost their sex drive and performance. For both, the consequence is that the unprescribed drug that you buy might not be the right kind.

For sexual disturbances, there are organic and non-organic causes. If your problem has an organic cause and you consume a drug that is meant to stimulate the desire irrespective of the cause, then, you might have problems because that problem is not solved by that drug. Several organs could be affected, starting with the brain.

You could also have heart attack and if the drugs are secreted through the kidney, they might cause kidney failure. Those taking drugs for sexual stimulation may have no cause other than psychological.

What advice would you give to people suffering from sex arousal disorders?

The first thing to do is to consult a medical practitioner who is versed with sexual problems. And then the doctor will examine you and, if need be, he will ask for complementary biological examination in order to establish an organic cause. It is only after establishing an organic cause that an appropriate drug will be prescribed.

Can we say the increased consumption of sex enhancement drugs is becoming a public health concern in Cameroon?

I am not conversant with the national figures, but I think there is a problem considering the number of people who are consulting for this problem and the type of drugs they are consuming. The problem is related to people's zeal to put sex before everything.

Secondly, other causes are illnesses like diabetes that is on the increase. Cameroonians are getting older too. The older you get, the more you have sexual problems and so you may want to consume drugs to boost your sex drive. All this put together shows that there is a problem.
