TEST A GUNMAN has been told he will spend at least 30 years behind bars after shooting a man dead at the Notting Hill Carnival.ermaine Labastide, 27, of Bramah Green, Brixton, was one of three men jailed on Wednesday at the Old Bailey for the murder of Lee Subaran at the carnival in west London in 2004. Labastide and two other men denied murder but were convicted by a jury after hearing how they were part of the Mus Love Crew which opened fire on Mr Subaran because he had disrespected them.
The gang of six pulled out weapons including a Mac 10 sub-machine gun and fired a hail of bullets at Mr Subaran as he danced with a crowd of revellers at an after-carnival party in a Kensal Green park. Three other men pleaded guilty to murder last year.
Handing out the three life terms, Judge Stephen Kramer said: "There is no evidence that anyone else in that park outside your group was injured in any way but you acted with complete disregard for all those present."
