Police are appealing for information following two armed robberies in Huddersfield on Thursday, January 6, 2007.
The first happened at 7.20pm at an off licence on Leeds Road in Bradley when two men wearing balaclavas entered the shop and threatened staff with what's believed to be a black handgun.
Staff then activated the panic alarm and the robbers made off with a small amount of property. In this incident the man with the gun is described as white, age between mid-teens and 25, 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 8 tall, of thin build, wearing dark clothing with a hood and a woollen type mask with eye holes. He had a mobile phone around his neck on a cord.
The second man is described as a bit taller than the first man, chubby, of a similar age and again wearing a woollen type mask with eye holes.
The second incident happened shortly after 7.20pm last night at an address on Keldregate in Deighton, when a woman was unloading her shopping from her car. She was threatened by two men with what's believed to be a handgun and they then entered her house and made off with property.
In this incident the first man with the gun is described as white, 17 years old, of skinny build, with a thin face and pale complexion, clean shaven and wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a black hooded top with the hood up and a black woollen hat under the hood.
The second man is described as white, 5 foot 4, of slim build and wearing dark clothing with a hooded top which was over his head.
No one was injured in either incident, although the woman was badly shaken.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to either incident, specifically two people who were believed to be in the shop at the time or who may have been in the area at the time and seen the men making off from either location to contact Kirklees CID on 01484 436685.
