I want to talk about fathers the positive and the major negitives we see today.

How black fathers can and should be role models for thier kids even if their not with the mother.

why do black and white women keep letting themshelves get pregnant by WASTEMEN?

Are good fathers and role models not given the exposure they deserve in the community/public?

I know this sounds out there an would never happen, but i believe that people should not be aloud to have kids until certain criteria is met like age, married, etc etc.........

Briscoe's repley to maurice:
You really don't think the authorities are to blame do you? what about breaking the cycle of single parentism? to be a sinlge parent gets you money and somewhere to live and lots of benefits, it is still the case. Just look around the estates, it's a profitable thing having babies. As long as those boys don't have to pay for their children and those girls who deliberately get pregnant to dress those babies in roccawear, golddigga nike to name a few and they cna't spell their name never mind pass an interview nothing will change becasue no one is accountable anymore. Its about money and free money at that. When those boys have to work to pay for those children we will see a change because they have to pay for that child. The stigma to single parentism is no longer there. Children are popped out like i don't know what by children who have no life skills themselves and certainly nothing to offer a child in the likes of wisdom.

Kids not being scared of anything is down to do-gooder, know-it-alls getting the laws changed so that the kids can't be disciplined for anything, without you being criminalised and/or sent to gaol. This society is arse-about-face!

Better education and less social and religious stigma about sex may be part the answer. It may also be useful to increase the self-worth of young people (especially women!) so that they feel that they have something to aim for in life. Studies in poorer countries have shown that, when women are educated about the in's and out's of sex and its consequences, many of them decide to proactive and take matters into their own hands. Hopefully, the same sort of thing could happen here, if we can catch them young enough. Proper education could also show the guys that there is more involved in sex, than the act itself...

But there are to many men running around needlessly impregnating females and becoming surougot fathers for no logical reason other then for a minute ;) of pleasure, putting pressure on schools, hospitals, police, etc etc....

positive I don't have a full proof idea that is why I said certain age, or some kind of criteria :) I think the old wife's tall is two parents I.e married generally teach, educate, bring up thier kid(s) more comfortably then a single parent, but yes I'm sure there are bad married couples out there thou.

@Blackstar do you believe that by setting criterea/controlling who has children that this could lead to those in control having a "weapon of mass destruction" for use on African peoples? Do you believe that being married automatically makes the husband an appropriate and responsible parent/role model?

By the same token, our women also have a responsibility to protect themselves. I am all for freedom in society, but its not as if women have to submit to their carnal lusts and then get pregnant, having to suffer the consequences by themselves. Right from the beginning of them becoming sexually active (and even before) they are away of contraceptive ways of protecting themselves from pregnancy and those 'Waste Men', as you so eloquently put it. Yes, Black men need to take responsibility for their actions but, then again, so do the Black women...

You know, this is all a legacy of slavery. The slave masters used to make the strong male slaves sleep with as many female slaves as they could, impregnating one woman then moving onto the next, so that they could populate their plantations with as many strong workers as possible. We are 'free men' now (apparently), but most Black men still seem to have that slave mentality, where they think they have to perpetuate the slavers agenda. What they are actually doing is disrespecting and denigrating themselves, their women and their people.

I was on the train the other day and saw this young black girl (maybe 19 years old) alone with pram an a baby, she was talking to her male friend in the oppersite seat saying "my baby father an I are no longer together so i dont care what he does, he says he got another girl pregnant, but he tell me he dont want it, but i dont care what he does" all i could think was what a waste man, how could you get impregnted by a guy like that what was you thinking, maybe you deserve each other lol

For me, its about being mature and responsible. If they have had children (whether planned or not) its is their responsibility to ensure that they do what is right by the child(ren), preferably in a family unit or, if not, as an ever present parent and mentor
