A MAN has survived being shot in the chest after gunmen stormed into his home.

The incident happened after a late-night fight broke out in Deptford on Thursday.

Three attackers - described as being aged between 18 and 22 - broke into the property in Abinger Grove, South London and opened fire. A 41-year-old man was hit. Police found him lying in a pool of blood after they were called at 10.20pm.

The victim was taken to a South London hospital suffering from chest wounds.

He is in a serious but stable condition.

The Met's Operation Trident, which investigates shootings in the black community, is investigating.

So far no arrests have been made.

A Met spokesman said: "It is understood that three suspects, described as black, entered the address and following a dispute, the victim was shot.

"The suspects then fled the scene. Their direction is unknown at this early stage." Anyone with information should contact the incident room on 020 8785 8580 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
