Malcolm Frederick, many of you will remember him playing the role of Beastie in the 1980’s British Black Sitcom ‘NO PROBLEM’ along with a 30 year long list of theatre, film and TV credits to his name.

Malcolm is suffering from a form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma called Mantle Cell Lymphoma which is an aggressive form of the cancer.  The only 'cure' is a bone marrow transplant.  His siblings have been checked but unfortunately there isn't a match there, so we now have to look on the register.

The good news is that he is in remission at the moment but we have no knowledge of how long this will last.  The best time to do the bone marrow operation is ideally whilst he is in remission as he should be better able to deal with the side effects etc of this operation.  So he really needs the transplant as soon as possible.

The reality is that we Caribbean’s have a very unique genetic make up that is a result of slavery and the other influences in our history, so it is imperative that as many of us as possible sign up for the bone marrow register.

I've attached some literature on how to become a donor along with the relevant forms to be filled in.

You can also find more information at www.aclt.co.uk

Please would you be kind enough to send this information on to as many people as possible in order to create an awareness of the necessity for us as a people to build a substantial bone marrow register.
