MARKETING MAN FOR BLACK HOUSING GROUP Print E-mail
An umbrella body for black and minority ethnic-led housing associations has appointed a marketing co-ordinator. Ian Marsh has joined the Federation of Black Housing Organisations (FBHO) with responsibility for all aspects of the group's marketing and communications.

He began his career in 1992 with the Voice newspaper as a telesales executive and rose to the position of new business development manager, before joining a new media company.

Ian joined the Ethnic Media Group in May 2003 as a senior sales executive on the New Nation, Caribbean Times, Eastern Eye and Asian Times.  He was also involved in helping to organise the Jobs Careers and Prospects Exhibition and the Asian Business awards.

His responsibilities will cover dissemination of information to membership organisations and stakeholders through the newly re-launched FBHO magazine BHM - Black Housing Monthly, the FBHO Annual Yearbook and Wallplanner, FBHO's Annual Conference and Awards, and the launch of a new FBHO website which will include tenants and housing forum pages, and a recruitment section.

Ian said:  "I am joining the FBHO at a very exciting time in its development and I am looking forward to helping the organisation reach and influence as many people as possible."

Jheni Williams, FBHO Executive Director, said:  "I welcome Ian to the FBHO and I know that he will be invaluable in working with our members on a whole range of marketing matters, events and publications.

"We are in the middle of a major change programme as we reposition FBHO as a major force in the BME sector, influencing policy and providing much needed support, and Ian will play a significant role in achieving these aims."
