A TEENAGER threatened to shoot police when they refused to let him cross a cordon at a murder scene, the Old Bailey heard. The 17-year-old is accused of being the mastermind behind a robbery at a christening party at the Wood Dene Community Centre in Peckham where 33-year-old Zainab Kalokoh was shot in the head.
The court heard the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, tried to get into his flat near the community centre hours after the shooting. But officers had sealed off the area with tape. PC Chris Price told the court on Wednesday he asked the boy to stop. He said: "He was very aggressive and verbally abusive. "The one thing I recall him saying was, 'I'm gonna kill you', while making a gun shape with his fingers."
The boy was arrested later after a scuffle at the cordon with a police inspector. By this time the court heard he had been linked to the shooting and was arrested on suspicion of murder. The boy and three accomplices are accused of raiding the party on Sunday, August 27, and blasting Mrs Kalokoh in the head as she cradled her six-month-old niece in her arms. Miraculously, the baby survived. The gang, three aged 17 and one 15, all deny murder, conspiracy to rob and possessing a firearm. The 15-year-old, who was 14 at the time, denies a further charge of possessing ammunition without a licence. The four, all from South London, are all too young to be named. The trial continues. |
