Black Youth Achievement Awards 2010
Description:
'Black Youth Achievements' are a registered community interest company founded in August 2008 by Kay Oldroyd.
The objective of 'Black Youth Achievements - The Awards' is to emphasise, reveal and promote positive actions and achievements of our young black people (by this we mean those of a African / Caribbean heritage, parents or parent ) within the UK community.
These awards aspire to provide a platform for these young people to be openly recognised, rewarded and celebrated; the aim being to increase esteem and pride amongst our target group of 8 - 25 year olds.
'Black Youth Achievements' has a five year plan which it sees will best support young people in reaching their full potential and help individuals to incorporate their skills, knowledge and talents, empowering their peers during the process. We aim for young people to gain recognition and become part of the decision making process for their community to aid integration between services, businesses and wider communities.
The second Awards Ceremony date to be anounced.
The successful nominees will receive an award, chances of valuable work placements (where appropriate) mentoring support and will go on to be Peer Mentors to next years nominee's.
The evening will be recorded and copies will be available.
