On October 9th 2005 The Reggae Boyz are back in town to take on the Qantas Socceroos at their adopted home, Fulham’s Craven Cottage.

The Reggae Boyz arrive fresh from an excellent showing at the recent CONCACAF Gold Cup where they were knocked out at the quarter final stage by eventual winners and leaders of their World Cup qualifying group, the USA.

This event raises awareness of a under represented fashion designers from African/Caribbean and Asian backgrounds. The award promotes public awareness, whilst encouraging cultural unity and diversity.

A FOOTBALL tournament is to be held in memory of murdered teenager Anthony Walker. The tournament on October 23 has won the support of the anti-racist charity Kick It Out, as well as Merseyside police and Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs.

The event, involving teams from throughout the North West will be at King George V playing fields in Huyton, and follows the success of a basketball tournament held in honour of the schoolboy.

Football Racial AbuseA 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with racist chanting during the football match between Peterborough United and Lincoln City on Saturday.

The Peterborough player, believed to be defender Sagi Burton(pictured), reported the incident to referee Gary Lewis.

Bashment‘Bashment’, which returns to the Theatre Royal Stratford East on Thursday, has been nominated for the category of Best New Play at the 2005 TMA Theatre Awards.

‘Bashment’ is in competition with ‘Pyrenees’, which was staged at Watford Palace, and ‘Talking to Terrorists’, which was put on at the Royal Court.  Presented by the Theatre Management Association since 1990, these awards are the only nation-wide awards for theatre, opera and dance.

West MidlandsTWO of the Midlands' most wanted men have given themselves up and another has been arrested after police put their faces on the internet.

Keith David London was wanted for questioning over an allegation of assault with intent to rob, Colin George Oliver over attempted murder and John Joseph Fox in connection with attempted murder.

NHSPeople from a diverse range of backgrounds are being encouraged to have their say about the local NHS by joining a new forum to give feedback about health services in the area. 

The forum  called Our Voice - is specifically aimed at involving people from minority ethnic groups in developing health services to meet their needs.  Recruitment to the group will begin this weekend at the Newcastle Mela.
